ECG Clinics and 24 Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring
– Castle Quay Medical Practice
Originally from Devon, Karen qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1990 at the Jersey General Hospital. She enjoyed working there for many years, mainly on the Medical wards and the Private Wing, whilst gaining her Degree (Hons) in Science. Karen loved nursing patients and mentoring students, whilst also studying a variety of medical conditions. I also bank nursed for Jersey Hospice Care, during which time I achieved Diplomas in Massage Therapy.
After taking time out to bring up her 2 children, she returned to nursing and was delighted to join Castle Quay Medical Practice in 2016. It is a developing role that currently includes work such as ; running Heart Trace (ECG) clinics, 24hr blood pressure monitoring, assisting the doctors and chaperoning patients.
Karen’s special interests are Cardiac Care, Research and Wound Care- although she does love anything medically related! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking part in archery; having had the honour of competing for Jersey at the Island Games in 2017.
