After leaving school (Hautlieu) Carole trained as a Junior/Secondary teacher in Wales. She taught in Birmingham for two years before returning to Jersey, where she has been employed by Education ever since.
Whilst teaching she developed a keen interest in Special Needs Education, and, decided to undergo additional training. This led her to the new role of Special Needs Co-ordinator at Grouville School. A post she held for several years.
Later, in January 2007, she felt a need to extend her skills yet further, to allow her to support the well-being and emotional development of children in her care. She consequently embarked on a four and a half year counselling course at Highlands. She also undertook specialist training in bereavement counselling, at the Jersey Bereavement Service.
In January 2015 she became registered on the U.K. Register of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and, at the beginning of 2016 she was granted the status of BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist.
Although she is passionate about working with children, the last eight year’s training and experience have allowed her to extend her skills to working with adults, something which she truly loves – especially those who are bereaved. She has worked with a wide age range, including a four year old and an eighty year old – and all ages in between!
Additionally to working at Castle Quay she is the School Counsellor at Grouville School.
